Police investigate shots fired in central, south Columbia

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Police are investigating two incidents in which shots were fired Thursday -- one in central Columbia and another on the city's south side.

The first incident was called in at about 6 p.m. and happened on Worley Street near Ridgeway and Sanford avenues, police said Friday in a news release. Officers recovered spent casings and found damage to a vehicle, a street sign and a home.

Police found a vehicle similar to one described by witnesses in the 1300 block of Haven Road, according to the release.

Officers were sent to the 1800 block of Telluride Lane in south Columbia at about 8 p.m. Thursday. Police found spent casings and damage to a vehicle and a home, according to the release.

A witness reportedly saw a man in a white or gray jersey with red lettering on the back running from the scene.

No injuries were reported in either incident.
