JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Jefferson City police say they detained three juveniles and arrested an 18-year-old wanted on Florida warrants after a chase late Wednesday.

Police said an officer tried to pull over a speeding vehicle at about 10 p.m. in the 600 block of Eastland Drive. The vehicle drove away, starting a pursuit that went down Ellis Boulevard, Tanner Bridge, Stadium, Leslie Boulevard, Moreau Drive/Clark Avenue, Dunklin and Adams streets.

The vehicle crashed on Adams, according to a police department news release, and the four people inside ran. The juveniles -- two boys and a girl -- were caught and taken to the Prenger Family Center, police said.

Officers found Zacchaeus Sanders, 18, inside the perimeter they set up, according to the release. He was taken to the Cole County Jail on warrants out of Florida and police have requested charges of vehicle tampering and resisting arrest.

Police said the vehicle's owner didn't realize her vehicle had been taken until officers told her.
