Pettis County prosecutors charged three people with abandoning a corpse after they allegedly brought a dead teenager to an emergency room.

According to the Sedalia Police Department, officers responded to Bothwell Regional Health Center on Aug. 4 after a 16-year-old boy was brought to the emergency room.

Police said that the boy had been deceased for “an extended period of time.” Investigators did not reveal any other details about the death.

Officers later identified the people who brought the teenager to the health center as Gary A. McKinsey Jr., 20, Gunnar A. Fletcher-Zaremba, 17, and Kricket K. Dhority, 19.

Prosecutors charged each person with abandonment of a corpse.

Online court records show Fletcher-Zaremba has an arraignment scheduled for Sept. 15. The other two suspects have hearings set for Sept. 1.

Police ask anyone with information about the case to call Detective Travis St. Cyr at 660-827-7823, extension 1212.
