CALLAWAY COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Callaway County Sheriff's Office said an Iowa man was booked into the Callaway County Jail on Thursday after being accused of having sexual interaction with a child.

David Dodds, 58, of Corydon, Iowa, faces several felony charges of sexual misconduct with a child younger than 15, according to online court records.

The sheriff's office said in a release deputies started investigating the sexual misconduct allegations in March. Wayne County, Iowa sheriff's deputies arrested Dodds on June 19 after a Callaway County investigator traveled there the same day.

The release didn't include details about the extent of the sexual contact or how many children were involved. Court documents were not available Friday because of the observance of the Fourth of July holiday.

According to the release, Dodds was being held in the Callaway County Jail without bond Friday.

Deputies said the investigation is ongoing and that more charges could be filed.
