Columbia man charged with having child pornography
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Boone County deputies arrested a Columbia man Friday after a raid on his home in which they allegedly found images and a video of children having sex.
Prosecutors charged Qazi Khurram Hassan, 32, on Friday with two counts of a second or subsequent offense of possessing child pornography. He was in the Boone County Jail on a $50,000 cash-only bond.
The Boone County Cyber Crimes Task Force received a report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that child pornography had been uploaded to a social media service, the Boone County Sheriff's Department said in a news release.
The department received more complaints that more than 40 images had been uploaded using two other accounts, the release said. Investigators believe Hassan owned the accounts, according to the sheriff's department.
During the raid on Hassan's home authorities found more than 40 images and a video of child pornography, the department said.
No hearings have been set in Hassan's case. He did not have a lawyer listed in online court records.
