Maries County deputies investigate report of shots fired in Belle

BELLE, Mo. (KMIZ)

At least one person is in custody after a gun was fired in Belle, according to the Maries County Sheriff’s Office.

The agency posted on Facebook that deputies started investigating after taking a report of a shooting at the intersection of First Street and Highway 28.

The report claimed a passenger in a tan truck displayed a “long gun” out of the passenger window. That person then fired at least one round, according to the Facebook post.

Authorities said there were no reported injuries.

The truck was later found in Owensville and the suspects were arrested. The post did not say how many suspects are in custody.

The Sheriff’s Office said it would give an update at a later time.
