Columbia man dies after shooting

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Police say a man has died after being shot early Monday in northeast Columbia.

Rod Jamal Jones, 36, of Columbia, was taken off life support Wednesday, the Columbia Police Department said in a news release. Officer found Jones with a gunshot wound at about 2 a.m. Monday in the 2700 block of Quail Drive.

First responders immediately took Jones to an emergency room, saying at the time that he his injuries were life-threatening.

Police released no other information Thursday and said the investigation continues.
