The Miller County prosecutor's office charged an Eldon man Tuesday with shooting from a motor vehicle and more charges are pending after deputies said he held them in a standoff for hours.

Deputies arrested Roy Derecskey, 36, at a residence on Adams Road in Miller County after he allegedly forced a woman into a vehicle and fired a gun at a separate Miller County location.

The woman came out of the residence on Adams Road when deputies arrived but Derecskey remained inside, the Miller County Sheriff's Office said in a news release. Derecskey surrendered peacefully after "several hours," the sheriff's office said.

The release said deputies found methamphetamine and a gun inside and that other charges are pending.

Derecskey was being held on a $50,000 bond along with arrest warrants from Camden County.
