Moberly police said Friday that they arrested a man suspected in a shooting.

According to the Moberly Police Department, 23-year-old Alshaun Oliver was arrested on Thursday on charges of first-degree assault and armed criminal action.

Police say they were called Sunday to the 800 block of Bond Street for a report of damage to a home. According to court documents, officers found damage to two homes.

Investigators determined multiple people, including Oliver, were in the area for a drug deal, court documents say.

The probable cause statement says Oliver admitted to firing the gun but said it was a warning shot. Oliver told police the occupant of one of the homes sent a text to a member of his group threatening the group with a gun, according to the probable cause statement. Oliver claims he didn't intend to actually hit anyone, court documents say.

Oliver is being held in the Randolph County Jail on a $100,000 cash-only bond.
