VERSAILLES, Mo. (KMIZ)

A man from northwest Missouri was involved in a crash after leading Morgan County deputies on a chase Monday evening, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The patrol said 35-year-old Shane S. Walter led deputies on a chase that ended in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 5 and Route TT around 5:15 p.m.

Patrol Troop F Sgt. Scott White said the chase started on Highway 52 westbound in Barnett and continued into Versailles.

White said Walter drove down Highway 5 until he crashed into a pickup truck. The crash report said Walter drove off the road and was thrown from his motorcycle. The truck driver wasn't hurt in the crash.

The highway patrol crash report said Walter had serious injuries and was taken to University Hospital by ambulance. Hospital spokesman Eric Maze said Tuesday there was no record of Walter being admitted to the hospital.

White said troopers weren't involved in the chase but responded to the crash.

Charges were not available in online court records Tuesday morning.
