Man accused of early morning Jefferson City shooting faces multiple felonies
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
Cole County prosecutors charged a 20-year-old man in connection with an early morning shooting that damaged multiple vehicles.
According to a news release, officers arrested Tyler Scott on Tuesday afternoon in connection with a shooting in the 800 block of Stadium Boulevard that happened a day earlier.
Jefferson City Police Department spokesman Lt. David Williams said officers were sent to Stadium early Monday after receiving multiple reports of a shooting.
Police said in the release that multiple bullet casings were found at the scene. Officers interviewed several poeple, however, no arrests were made at that time, the release said.
Williams said Scott was arrested in the 600 block of Kansas Street around 2:35 p.m. during a traffic stop. Officers said Scott had a handgun when he was arrested.
Officers say Scott initially denied being a part of the shooting but later admitted to it after watching surveillance video from the shooting. The release said Scott and the other people at the shooting scene knew each other.
According to the release, Scott also had an arrest warrant out of St. Louis.
Online court records say no bond was set in Scott's case. He faces multiple felonies including first-degree assault.
