Jefferson City man accused of child sex crimes

COLE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Deputies with the Cole County Sheriff's Department arrested a Jefferson City man suspected of child sex crimes Tuesday afternoon.

According to a press release, the arrest came after a report in April. Authorities said the alleged victim was a minor.

Deputies arrested Gerald D. Rodgers, 45, around 2 p.m. and took him to the Cole County Jail.

The Cole County Prosecutor's Office charged Rodgers with statutory rape and child molestation.

According to online court records, his bond was set at $25,000. An attorney for Rodgers was not listed as of Tuesday night.
