BOONE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Boone County deputies arrested a 23-year-old man on suspicion of assault and other crimes after a shooting Tuesday.

Deputies were sent to Green Hills Mobile Home Park on Route VV a little before 7 a.m. The Boone County Sheriff's Department said deputies believe Keon Jordan of Columbia and a 37-year-old man were visiting a residence there when the shooting happened.

Jordan pulled a gun and threatened several people during an argument over his missing property, the sheriff's department said. A scuffle for the gun ensued and investigators believe Jordan's gun went off, hitting the 37-year-old man.

Deputies arrested Jordan on suspicion of second-degree assault, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon, illegal gun possession by a felon and two counts of fourth-degree assault, a misdemeanor.

The shooting victim was taken from the scene by ambulance for treatment for a single gunshot wound.

Information about charges against Jordan was not posted in online court records.
