Hundreds of pounds of marijuana recovered in two Cooper County busts

COOPER COUNTY, Mo.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol recovered more than 200 pounds of marijuana since Friday after two different traffic stops in Cooper County.

A trooper pulled over Joshua Finney, 28, of Virginia, and Ezekiel Kinnebrew, 26, of Virginia as they were traveling from Colorado back to Virginia at about 8:15 a.m. on Friday. Troopers requested a K9 unit and found 115 pounds of marijuana and three stolen guns.

The two men were arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, unlawful use of a weapon and receiving stolen property. They were taken to the Cooper County Jail on no bond.

A Georgia man was arrested in a separate incident on Monday after a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper found more than 100 pounds of marijuana in his car.

Tecori D. Elder-Scott, 27, was pulled over at about 10:40 a.m. Monday in Cooper County for speeding and following the car in front of him too closely. The trooper called in a K9 unit and found about 107 pounds of marijuana in the car.

Elder-Scott was arrested on suspicion of felony delivery of a controlled substance and was taken to the Cooper County Jail.
