A Jefferson City man was arrested on Tuesday night after a short chase on Stadium Boulevard.

Police originally tried to pull over Charles Davis Jr., 35, in the 800 block of Stadium Drive at about 9:30 p.m. Davis did not pull over, and police chased him through Lafayette Street, East High Street, Benton Street, East Capitol Street and Dawson Street, according to a news release from the Jefferson City Police Department.

Davis came to a stop on Dawson Street, got out of the car and tried to run from police, according to the news release. Davis was found shortly after a K9 unit found him against an area home, the release said.

Police found methamphetamine, heroin, empty plastic baggies and $500 in cash on Davis, the release said.

Davis and the passenger in the car were arrested. Davis had outstanding warrants in Cole County and Jefferson City.
