One in custody after homicide in Johnson Co.

Authorities in Johnson Co., Missouri are seeking formal charges against a suspect after a shooting.

Holden police officers and Johnson Co. Sheriff's deputies found a deceased individual in the 700 block of S. Market St. after reports of a shooting on Saturday afternoon.

Sheriff Scott Munsterman said in an online statement that one suspect was taken into custody after the incident.

"The Sheriff's Office is currently working with the Johnson County Prosecutor's Office and formal charges are being sought," Munsterman said in the statement issued Sunday afternoon.

Holden is a city with about 2,300 residents and is about 20 miles west of Warrensburg.
