Moberly correctional officer faces drug charges

Moberly Correctional Center officer Timothy Davis was charged with allegedly trying to sell synthetic marijuana after an internal investigation at the prison.

A correctional officer at the Moberly Correctional Center is now charged after being arrested on Saturday.

Timothy Davis faces a felony charge for delivery of a controlled substance. A spokeswoman for DOC said Davis was arrested after an internal investigation revealed he had contraband inside the state prison.

A release from DOC shows Davis had 173 grams of synthetic marijuana and 2 pounds of tobacco.

Online court documents show Davis posted a $20,000 bond. His first court hearing is scheduled for Feb. 10.
