Columbia police arrest suspected purse snatcher, accomplice

Columbia police say this man has been stealing purses from elderly women at grocery stores.

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

UPDATE 12/20: Columbia police say they've identified a suspect in incidents of elderly women's purses being snatched at grocery stores.

Police arrested Adam A. Connor, 34, on Friday along with an alleged accomplice, 31-year-old Tracy L. Day. Both are from Columbia.

ORIGINAL: Columbia police are asking for help to find a man who has been stealing purses from elderly women.

The Columbia Police Department posted a photo on Twitter of a man they say is taking the purses from shopping carts at grocery stores. The man is seen in the surveillance photo leaving a store holding a purse.

Police ask anyone with information about the purse snatcher to call CPD at 573-874-7652 or CrimeStoppers at 573-875-8477.
