Police ask public to help identify truck seen in ATM theft

An ATM carrying an undisclosed amount of money was stolen early Sunday morning.

The Columbia Police Department released a photo of the truck carrying away the machine from the Great Southern Bank on South Providence.

"Surveillance camera images show the ATM being placed in the back of a dump truck described as having a white cab and blue body dump bucket," police said in a statement.

The theft occurred around 3:40 a.m., according to police. Pieces of debris from the machine were left behind.

Anyone with information is asked to call CPD at 573-874-7652 or CrimeStoppers at 573-875-TIPS (8477) to stay anonymous.
