MONDAY UPDATES: Boone County still leads the state of Missouri for percent of residents receiving and completing coronavirus vaccinations
The Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services is reporting 17 new COVID-19 cases.
There are currently 60 active cases in the county.
The county now has a reported total number of COVID-19 cases of 18,496.
The county has reported the total number of cases removed from isolation is 18,320, an 18 case increase.
The health department is reporting two Boone County residents are in the hospital due to the coronavirus.
The State of Missouri coronavirus vaccine dashboard is reporting that 85,484 residents have received their first dose in Boone County and 73,150 Boone County residents have completed their vaccine doses.
Boone County has the largest percentage of people in Mid-Missouri that have received at least one dose of the vaccine with 47.4%. The second closest in the state is St. Louis County with 44.8%.
Boone County is first in the state with a reported 40.5% of residents that have completed their coronavirus vaccine doses. St. Charles County is second in the state with 36.9% of residents have completed the doses for vaccination.
Cole County has the second-highest first vaccination rate in Mid-Missouri with 38%. Montgomery County is third with 33.9%.
41% of Missourians have initiated vaccination against COVID-19
According to the state health dashboard, 41% of Missourians have received at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine as of Monday morning.
However, the seven-day average of daily vaccinations dropped to 15,736 Monday. It's the lowest average since the peak on April 11 and less than a third of the peak average.
More than 2 million people in the state have completed the vaccination process, equaling 33.9% of the population.
Missouri's seven-day COVID-19 positivity rate stayed steady for another day, still at 3.9%. No additional deaths were recorded Monday, keeping the total number of deaths due to COVID-19 at 9,006.
The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services recorded 121 new confirmed cases of the virus. Since the pandemic began, there have been 509,641 total confirmed cases of COVID-19.
DHSS also added 68 additional probable cases discovered through antigen testing. To date, 86,810 probable cases of the virus have been found through antigen testing in Missouri.
