Columbia and Boone County are no longer under health orders that included a mask mandate.

That makes masks optional, and the property owners get to set the rules. This means business owners get to decide whether they'll require masks on their property.

Masks have been a hot-button issue throughout the pandemic and many people say they won't shop at businesses that require masks. Others say they'll only shop at businesses that make customers cover their mouth and nose.
