The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services reported 322 new confirmed cases for a total of 500,071 since the pandemic began. The state reported another 202 antigen cases, which are considered probable but not confirmed. The state has recorded 82,412 probable antigen-tested cases since the start of the pandemic.

The number of cases over the last week puts Missouri at No. 25 among states, according to the state coronavirus dashboard.

Missouri also reported 34 new coronavirus deaths on Tuesday, bringing the total to 8,732 since the pandemic started in March 2020. The deaths were reported as part of a weekly state review of death certificates. Two deaths apiece were logged in November, January and February, with March and April each picking up 14 more coronavirus deaths.

New cases have dropped 15% in the last week compared to the week before, according to the state coronavirus dashboard. However, several Mid-Missouri counties are in the top 20 for the highest new case rate over the past week, including Boone at No. 17, Maries at No. 19 and Osage at No. 15.

Vaccinations continue to increase in Missouri, with 36.9% of residents receiving at least one dose of vaccine as of Tuesday. However, the rate at which shots are being given continues to plummet after peaking earlier this month. Boone County ranks first in the state for the percentage of the population initiating vaccination at 43.4%.
