Walk-ins welcome at Columbia Mall vaccine clinic starting Monday

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Walk-in appointments are welcome on a first come, first served basis starting Monday at the Columbia Mall to get the two-dose Pfizer coronavirus vaccine.

Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services has partnered with the Missouri National Guard to get shots into arms from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and Tuesday.

Currently, Boone County is in the lead for the highest percent of initiated vaccinations in Missouri, sitting at 42.3%. As of now, 23.6% of the county's population has completed vaccination.

In total 34.2% of the population in the state of Missouri have initiated vaccination, and 1,420,881 Missourians have completed vaccination.

The clinic is located in the center hallway of the mall, across from Bath & Body Works.

Walk-ins are welcome, but the health department said in a press release appointments are encouraged. To schedule an appointment you must preregister through the state's vaccine navigator.

If you receive the Pfizer vaccine Monday the health department said you should return at the same time three weeks later on May 10, or May 11 if you get the shot Tuesday.

Anyone 16 or older is eligible to get the vaccine at the Columbia Mall.
