Permanent coronavirus vaccine site in Cole County opens Monday

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Starting Monday, April 12, the Cole County Community Vaccination Site located at the Capital Mall will be open for any Missouri resident interested in receiving a COVID-19 vaccination.

The site will be set up to vaccinate 4,000 people each week.

As of now, this site will give out the two-dose Pfizer vaccine. The shots are given three weeks apart for those 16 or older.

According to the state's COVID-19 vaccine data, 21% of Cole County's population has completed vaccination, and nearly 30% has initiated vaccination.

This vaccination site is a collaborative partnership between the Cole County Commission, the Cole County Health Department, Capital Region Medical Center, the Community Health Center of Central Missouri, Jefferson City Medical Group, SSM- St. Mary's Health Center and the Missouri National Guard.

The vaccine site is located at the Capital Mall, 3600 Country Club Drive in Jefferson City on the south side of the mall between the two entrances.

Vaccinations will be available by appointment Mondays through Thursdays from 9:00 a.m until 3:30 p.m at no charge.

However, the health department said as vaccine supply increases, walk-in hours may be added.
