Cooper County coronavirus vaccinations begin at Boonville Isle of Capri Casino Hotel
BOONVILLE, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Cooper County Public Health Center says it plans to vaccinate 2,000 total Missouri residents on Monday and Tuesday.
In a Facebook post, the health center said it will host the vaccination clinic at the Isle of Capri Casino Hotel in the hotel's ballroom.
Those looking to get a vaccine had to register through the Missouri COVID-19 Vaccine Navigator.
The clinic will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days with the Missouri National Guard on scene.
Those getting vaccinated are instructed to park in the back parking lot where Boonville Police will be directing traffic. Once parked, official escorts will take vaccine patients to the hotel entrance to confirm registration.
Once registration is confirmed, a nurse will assist patients to a chair to get vaccinated.
After the patient gets vaccinated, there will be a 15 minute post-shot observation period with paramedics and appointments for a second shot will automatically be made.
The Cooper County Public Health Center asks patients to wear a mask and a short sleeve or loose fitting shirt.
The Cooper County Public Health Center says it has given out over 3,000 vaccines in the last six weeks.
The hallways and ballroom are all non-smoking areas.
