WATCH: Jefferson City hospitals see small increase in COVID-19 hospitalizations

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Cole County health leaders met Wednesday morning going over an update on the COVID-19 pandemic.

Jefferson City area hospital officials, the Cole County Health Department director, as well as, Jefferson City's Mayor and the County Commission's presiding commissioner all spoke on the call.

Dr. Lenora Adams with SSM St. Mary's and Dr. Randall Haight with Captial Region Medical Center said both hospitals have seen a slight increase in virus-related hospitalizations over the last week. The hospital officials included new coronavirus cases have leveled off over the same time period.

Adams included her hospital has nearly used up its initial supply of the coronavirus vaccine and has placed another order with the state for more doses of Pfizer's vaccine.
