WATCH: Cole County health officials say countywide hospitalizations back to normal levels

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Cole County health officials gave an update on the COVID-19 pandemic Thursday morning during an online meeting.

Leaders with SSM St. Mary's and Capital Region Medical Center say hospitalizations have returned to normal levels after spiking in November.

Capital Region spokesman Dr. Randall Haight said the hospital has about the same number of hospitalizations is normally has for the time of year.

Cole County Health Department Director Kristi Campbell said COVID-19 cases have started to plateau. She added the county did not see a large spike in new cases following Thanksgiving.

Each of the health officials added that county residents should continue to follow COVID-19 mitigation protocols until further notice.
