CARES act applications open for Boone County businesses Thursday

ABC 17 News

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Boone County officials are set to start the process of distributing CARES act funding.

The online portal for small businesses to submit applications opens on Thursday morning at 8 and runs through Friday, closing at 5 in the evening.

The county aims to distribute $10,000 grants to 49 different businesses.

Those businesses must be locally owned and have 49 full-time employees or fewer.

They must also show that their business has been interrupted by the pandemic.

Distribution of these grants is set to happen between December 16th through December 18th.

PPP and SBA recipients are qualified to receive this funding, but they must first show they have continued to experience disruptions from COVID-19.

Businesses must also be at least one-year-old to qualify.
