Callaway County Courthouse

The courts moved into Phase 1 of the Missouri Supreme Court's COVID-19 directives on Sept. 24 when an employee tested positive, putting a halt to many in-person hearings. In Phase 1, only the most critical hearings and meetings can be held and courtroom occupancy is limited to 10.

The move to Phase 2 on Thursday allows hearings to accommodate up to 25 people, according to a release form the office of the court administrator. Social distancing rules are also in place and people inside courtrooms must wear masks.

The operating rules apply only to the court, not the entire courthouse, the administrator's office said.
