Cole County commissioners to review CARES Act funding requests

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Cole County Commission is set to review two CARES Act funding requests during a Tuesday morning meeting.

The commission's agenda said county leaders recieved internal CARES Act applications requests for emergency medical services and the 19th Circuit Court.

Commissioners are set to meet at the Cole County Courthouse at 9 a.m.

The agenda includes commissioner will also approve a CARES Act application request. It's unclear from the agenda where the request is coming from.

Presiding Commissioner Sam Bushman said last week the commission will start accepting the second phase of CARES Act funding requests on Tuesday. Applications are open through the end of September.

Cole County was given $9 million to relieve expenses incurred by municipalities and businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic. It has given out at least $1.5 million to schools across the county.
