WATCH: Boonville R-I superintendent talks about the return to learn

BOONVILLE, Mo. (KMIZ)

The deadline for families in Boonville R-I School District to choose online/virtual learning is this Friday.

Sarah Marriott, the superintendent for Boonville R-I schools, joined ABC 17 News Wednesday morning to talk about the return to learn.

According to the district's Return to School Plan, there are three education options for the 2020-2021 school year:

  • In-person enrollment: There are four different tiers of in-person learning that will be implemented according to the COVID-19 situation at the time. The first two are fully in-person with different health precautions. Another tier has two in-person days of school with three virtual days. The final tier is distance learning for all students.
  • Online/virtual enrollment: parents can either choose to go through the district's virtual instruction or a Missouri Course Access Program virtual option through an independent vendor
  • Homeschool or another family choice

The virtual enrollment forms are due by 5 p.m. Friday to the district office.
