Helias football coach tests positive for COVID-19

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo (KMIZ)

Helias Catholic High School said one football coach tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday morning.

The school finished an investigation Thursday morning to see who the coach may have come into contact with. As a result, no students had to be put into quarantine, but the defensive coaches will be isolating until July 23, the school reported.

Helias said it informed students and families of the positive case on Wednesday.

The football team did not have practices for the week, due to safety reasons. However, they will start up practice again on July 20.

The school encourages faculty and students to continue social distancing and to wear face coverings when distancing is not possible.
