VIDEO: Boone County commissioner says workers to return May 4

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Boone County employees will get back to work May 4, the first day a statewide stay-at-home order meant to slow down COVID-19 will be lifted.

Boone County Southern District Commissioner Fred Parry told ABC 17 News on Thursday that employees will have their temperatures checked every day when they arrive at work. The county will also set up special stations for hand sanitizing, he said.

Parry spoke on ABC 17 News at 5, just hours after Gov. Mike Parson said he would extend a statewide stay-at-home order through the end of May 3.

Parry said the county health director will decide how and when to lift the county's stay-at-home order, which is currently set to expire April 24.
