Semi-trailer fire in Cooper County Saturday afternoon

COOPER COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Cooper County Fire Protection District responded to and extinguished a semi-truck fire on I-70 Saturday afternoon.

The fire was in the 100 mile marker of I-70 Eastbound. The back axle of the trailer caught on fire, and the driver was able to disconnect the car from the trailer.

Cooper County Fire used an engine, two tankers and six firefighters to extinguish the flames. About 11,000 gallons of water were used, according to Cooper County Fire.

The trailer was carrying dry cat food.

There are no injuries reported.
