Law enforcement seeks more than 1 person in shooting of Boone County teen

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Deputies are looking for more than one person in a Tuesday morning shooting that injured a 15-year-old, according to a Boone County Sheriff’s Office spokesman.

Brian Leer, of the sheriff’s office, told ABC 17 News in an email on Wednesday that law enforcement is looking for more than one person, but would not specify how many.

The sheriff’s office wrote in a Tuesday release that Boone County Joint Communications received a call about a youth being shot in their face at 12:04 a.m. Tuesday in the 800 block of North Parkview Court. They were believed to be stable when they were brought to an area hospital.

Investigators said on Tuesday that the teenager was inside the home when shots were fired outside.

An ABC 17 News reporter at the scene saw four Boone County Sheriff's vehicles and one deputy walking around a with a flashlight and another inside the home, just after 1 a.m. that morning.
