COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

One of the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 in Columbia will be closed this weekend from 7 p.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Monday, according to a Tuesday press release from the Missouri Department of Transportation.

The closure will occur between Route B and Highway 63. The release says there will be “multiple brief full closures” of the eastbound lanes in 15-minute intervals.

The release says that crews are closing the left-hand exit from Interstate 70 to Business Loop 70. The work is part of the Improve I-70 Program, which aims to make Interstate 70 a three-lane highway in each direction across the state.
