Columbia asks Tuesday trash customers to put out roll carts a day early ahead of possible snow

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Residents who have their trash and recycling normally picked up on Tuesday are being asked to have it ready on Monday this week, the City of Columbia Water & Light wrote on its Facebook page.

The post says that the Solid Waste Division is asking customers to put out their trash a day early “for a possible Monday pickup,” ahead of possible snow on Tuesday.

Normal Monday pickups will still occur, the post says.

“The department hopes this approach will help avoid possible missed collections on Tuesday if winter weather causes a stoppage,” the post reads.

The ABC 17 News Stormtrack Weather Team is tracking a possible wintry mix on Saturday, isolated snow with no travel impacts on Monday and “more impactful snow showers” on Tuesday.
