COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The basketball courts at Douglass Park in Central Columbia will close this week for renovations, the Columbia Parks and Recreation Department wrote on its social media on Monday.

The post says that the park is expected completed by early June. The project is being funded by donations from the University of Missouri, the Veterans United Foundation and the Park Sales Tax, the post says.

Changes include installing a park shelter, new rims, LED lighting and sports surfacing to honor for MU women’s assistant coach Willie Cox, the post says.
