COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A popular burger franchise could soon add another location in Columbia.

Documents filed with the City of Columbia on Monday show that McDonald’s would like to put a new location at the site of the former Hardee’s at 200 South Providence Road.

Conceptual drawings show the new McDonald’s would have a two-lane drive-thru and more than 30 parking spaces.

The plan is still in its early phases and a consulting firm would have to meet with the city to review regulations and expectations for the new location.

McDonald’s has several locations already in Columbia, including Business Loop 70, The Shoppes at Stadium Boulevard, East Nifong Boulevard, East St. Charles Road, Smiley Lane and Clark Lane.

Documents outlining the plan were submitted to the city Monday by St. Charles, Missouri-based Civil and Environmental Consultants, Inc. The documents do not identify the would-be franchisee for the Providence location.
