COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The driver of a moped that crashed nearly two weeks ago in Columbia has died, police said Wednesday.

David Porter, 60, of Columbia died Tuesday at a local hospital, the Columbia Police Department said in a news release. He was hurt Nov. 7 when his moped crossed into the passing lane and hit a vehicle driven by a 26-year-old Columbia woman.

The impact threw Porter from the moped and he was rushed to a hospital. Police say he was not wearing a helmet.

The driver of the vehicle was not hurt, police say.
