Northeast Columbia road closed because of gas leak

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A northeast Columbia road was closed on Thursday afternoon because of a gas leak in the area.

Columbia firefighters had closed off Hanover Boulevard from Hidden Creek Court to Charleston Circle because of the leak.

Firefighters said that contractors hit a gas line while installing a fiber optic line.

No injuries were reported. Officials at the scene did not give a timeline for how long the road would be closed.
