One injured in kitchen fire at senior living facility in Columbia

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

One person was injured in a kitchen fire Wednesday night at a senior living facility in Columbia.

The Columbia Fire Department was called after 8 p.m. to Gentry Estates in the 4100 block of South Bethel Street, CFD spokeswoman Katherine Rodriguez wrote in an email to ABC 17 News.

One person was brought to an area hospital “for a smoke inhalation evaluation,” Rodriguez wrote. The fire was started on a stove and was put out by sprinklers in the apartment.
