No injuries reported in north Columbia garage fire, police tape seen

Police tape was put up on Holly Avenue after a fire engulfed a detached garage on Wednesday.

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

No injuries have been reported in a north Columbia garage fire that occurred on Wednesday.

Columbia firefighters were dispatched at 3:41 p.m. to the 1800 block of Holly Avenue. Fire officials said a detached, two-car garage was engulfed in flames. Fire officials have not determined a cause for the fire yet.

Police tape was put up before 5 p.m. Police were seen speaking with residents in the area. Firefighters began leaving the scene at 6:18 p.m. At least seven Columbia police officers were at the scene.

Boone County Joint Communications sent a notification at 3:59 p.m. stating that Holly Avenue was closed between Grand Banks and Kitty Hawk Drive “due to fire incident.”
