A bridge along Columbia's Business Loop 70 that closed about two weeks ago reopened Friday.

The East Boulevard Bridge, near where Business Loop 70 meets Conley Road on the eastern side of Columbia, was reopened after a contractor spent two weeks repairing cracks and putting a sealant on the road surface, according to a City of Columbia news release.

The bridge's sidewalk will be closed again for one to two days next week for more repairs, the city says.

The construction costs for the project are estimated at $173,745.50, with additional engineering costs totaling $17,500. Funding for the project comes from the quarter-cent 2015 Capital Improvement Sales Tax extension.
