COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Hourly parking will not be available next week at the Eighth Street and Walnut Street parking garage in Columbia, according to a Friday press release from the city.

Crews will begin cleaning and applying sealant at 10 p.m. Sunday. Parking will still be available for permit holders.

Work will mostly occur 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday, the release says. Work is expected to be completed by 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, according to the release.

The release says that “no parking” signs will be posted and vehicles parked in those areas – regardless if they have a permit – will be ticketed and towed.

Signs will be posted instructing permit holders where they can enter and exit, the release says. Permit holders are advised to check on their vehicle at least once every 24 hours, if they leave it at the garage, the statement says.
