Police: Man arrested after stabbing woman on West Broadway in Columbia

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A man was arrested after he allegedly stabbed a woman on Wednesday morning in Columbia, according to a press release from the Columbia Police Department.

The police department received a call about the stabbing around 6 a.m. in the 1100 block of West Broadway.

Police said officers found a woman at the scene. She was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The suspect was not at the scene when officers arrived, but officers later found him in the area.

Police arrested Michael James, 55, of Columbia, on suspicion of first-degree domestic assault, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon and resisting arrest.

As of 6 p.m. Wednesday, James was not listed on the Boone County Jail roster. According to online court records, charges have not been filed.
