COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

No people were injured in a Tuesday afternoon fire at an apartment complex in the 5100 block of Clark Lane in Columbia, but a dog died in the fire, a Columbia Fire Department spokeswoman said.

Firefighters were called to The Greens at 3:50 p.m. and arrived three minutes later.

“Due to the excessive heat outside an additional engine company responded to the alarm. There was a working fire. No injuries were reported, however, one canine perished in the blaze,” CFD spokeswoman Katherine Rodriguez wrote in an email.
