No one hurt in west Columbia duplex fire

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

No one was hurt after a fire damaged a duplex in west Columbia on Friday.

More than a dozen firetrucks and police cars were outside a west Columbia duplex on in the 2700 block of Braemore Road that had smoke billowing from it Friday afternoon.

No one was hurt.

Damage could be seen to the back of the home and a wooden privacy fence as firefighters continued their work. The other side of the duplex had smoke and heavy water damage, according to a Columbia Fire Department spokesperson.

Damage was visible in the garage and the attic space over it from the fire.

The spokesperson said more information about the fire would not be immediately available.

Firefighters were called out at about 12:30 p.m., and the scene was expected to clear a little after 2 p.m.
