Boone Health COO to step down, will work as executive at St. Louis area health care provider
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Boone Health Chief Operating Officer Monica Smith will be stepping down, according to a Friday press release from Boone Health.
Smith’s last day will be March 1, the release states. She has been with Boone Health for more than 17 years. Smith will be taking an executive position with another health care provider in the St. Louis area, the release states.
According to her biography on Boone Health’s website, Smith is a registered nurse who received her bachelor’s degree from the Sinclair School of Nursing at University of Missouri in 1991, and her master’s degree in 1998. Smith was recruited to Boone Hospital in 2006 as the director of patient care services and ended up working several nursing leadership positions, her biography says.
Smith was promoted to vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer in 2015, according to her biography. She became the vice president of ancillary operations in 2017 and was promoted to COO in 2020, her bio says.
