COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Monday routes for residential trash pickup in Columbia next week have been canceled and will resume on Monday, Jan. 22, according to a press release from the City of Columbia.

Routes were initially delayed by one day because of observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The city wrote that the regular Tuesday through Friday routes will be delayed by one day for the rest of the week, meaning Tuesday routes will be collected on Wednesday, and so on.

Routes will not run on Tuesday because of safety concerns about the cold weather. The ABC 17 News Stormtrack Weather Team is predicting sub-zero air temperatures on Tuesday. Frigid temperatures are expected throughout the weekend.

Materials at recycling drop-off locations will not be collected Sunday through Tuesday, according to the release.
